Brow lamination in Ballarat.

Brow hairs relaxed, brushed upward and set in place for a fuller, softly groomed shape. Finished with a tint or a hybrid stain.

Freshly laminated and tinted brows after a brow appointment at Atlas of Beauty

What brow lamination is

Lamination works on the brow hair rather than the skin. A softening solution is applied so the hair becomes pliable, the hairs are brushed into the direction that suits your brow shape, and a setting solution holds them there.

Nothing is added and nothing is stuck on. It is your own hair, simply persuaded to sit where it flatters you, which is why a laminated brow still looks like your brow.

What happens in the room at Atlas

We start by looking at your brows properly: how they grow, where the gaps fall, and what you would like them to do that they currently refuse to.

The lamination solutions are applied in stages with the brows brushed through between each one. It is quiet and still, and you keep your eyes closed for most of it. Colour goes on next, then the shaping.

Shaping comes last on purpose. Once the hairs are set upward you can see the true shape, so there is far less guesswork and generally less hair removed than you might expect.

Tint or hybrid stain

Lamination is finished with one of two colour options, and the difference is worth understanding before you book.

  • Lamination + tint & shape, 45 min, $85 — Colour on the brow hairs. Softer and more natural, and lovely if your brows are reasonably full already.
  • Lamination + hybrid stain & shape, 45 min, $90 — Colour on the hairs plus a stain on the skin beneath, which fills the gaps visually for a more defined finish.

Who it suits

Suitability depends on the amount, condition and growth direction of the natural brow hair. Lamination may work well where the hairs grow downward or in several directions, but it is not the right option for every brow.

It is a good option if you are tired of brow pencil, or if you want your brows sorted before a wedding, a holiday or a stretch of time when you would rather not think about them.

If your brows are very sparse, a shape with hybrid stain may give a fuller-looking result than lamination. We will tell you if that is the case.

Our

Frequently asked questions.

What is brow lamination?+

Brow lamination is a setting treatment for the brow hairs themselves. A softening solution relaxes the hair so it can be brushed into a new direction, then a setting solution holds it there.

The result is a fuller, brushed-up brow that looks like your own brows on their best day, without any makeup.

What is the difference between the tint and hybrid stain add-on?+

A tint colours the brow hairs. A hybrid stain colours the hairs and tints the skin beneath, which reads as a fuller, more defined brow.

Lamination with tint and shape is $85. Lamination with hybrid stain and shape is $90.

Will lamination suit my brows?+

Suitability depends on the amount, condition and growth direction of your natural brow hair. A consultation helps determine whether lamination, tint or hybrid stain is the better option.

How long is the appointment?+

Lamination with tint and shape, or with hybrid stain and shape, is a 45-minute appointment.
